2. Watch the following video  Pumpkins. How do you tell the difference between a male and female  flower vine on a pumpkin plant? WYI.. We have 98 pumpkin plants growing in the back field on campus right now.

3.Using Google Earth how far is Lake Tahoe from Upland ?

4. What is the shortest driving route to Lake Tahoe? Which Highway would I take and spend most of my time on?  Hwy 5, Hwy 15, Hwy 395 etc.

5. What and where is Body Ghost Town? Provide a video on the town.

6. What is Mammoth Mountain known for and where is it? Provide a video on Mammoths popular sport.

7  Lake Tahoe. Provide a video on Lake Tahoe.   Provide an interesting fact about Lake Tahoe.

8. Provide information on the Hurricane that has hit the city of Houston Texas. Find a video and add to post.

9. Next week we will be making a CD of music you will need up to 80 minutes of music to place on your CD. Spend the rest of the period getting your music.

This week we will be experimenting with Sound and Music. I would like for you to explore Youtube and a site called Sounddogs.com.  We will be looking for music that we can use as background music for our upcoming video's.

1980’s music - They are to download TWO music video’s from the 80’s that they like. Then they are to provide information on the artist/band. Who What Why When How etc.

Around the Classroom

After our end of the year field trip to the LA County Fairgrounds Farm, I decided to add a  class that would involve agriculture. This summer I added dutch bucket hydroponics system, along with a Kratky float system. Then planted some tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers & lettuce to get the ball rolling..

More New Summer Work at HHS

Additional Summer Work included adding irrigation to extend the grass field an extra 10 yards to allow us to have home football games. We also made the volleyball poles removable and added benches next to the volleyball court. And then we are having the parking lot resurfaced and lined! Wait there is more.... The storage bin in the back will be getting painted to match the school!

What's New @ HHS

Over the summer this past summer HHS got a face lift, literally.  Hillside plywood skin was removed from most of the school and replaced with new plywood. The school was then painted.

We also had two students from Cal Poly Pomona along with Upland  USD maintenance personnel create a new garden for the school. The garden is 20 ft x140 ft. The garden was planted with pumpkins on July 26th. The pumpkins were started by both the CPP students and Mr. Connor. The plants will be growing over the next 110 days and should be ready for Halloween.
